The real senior prom

WESTFALL n Last Friday, a prom of a different sort was held in the Delaware Valley High School 11/12 cafeteria. The DV Senior Citizens’ Prom, the first of its kind at the school, was an immediate success, with just over 100 senior citizens attending. Much like a high school prom, couples could have a professional picture taken inside the door, and framed as a memento of the occasion. Also in classic prom tradition, Milton Haring and Brenda Gartner were crowned King and Queen of the event. However, standing out among the partygoers were husband and wife George and Bobbie Stagg, who celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary that night. For Mr. Stagg, a first-timer to prom, the evening was an opportune chance to stretch his legs on the dance floor; while his wife dazzled the crowd in her wedding dress. “I can’t tell you how much (fun we’re having); its great,” Mrs. Stagg told the Courier. In addition to the Staggs, all in attendance apparently enjoyed the Prom immensely, and responded with an enthusiastic cheer at the prospect of future dances.
