BLOOMING GROVE - State police say three persons died two separate fatal accidents in Pike County last week. Two died on Dec. 3 when a vehicle driven by Gregory Richard Laurensen, 24, of Hawley crossed into the oncoming lane on state Route 507 in Palmyra Township and crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by Tammy Lynn Evans, 39, of Greentown. Laurensen and Evans were pronounced dead at the scene. Laurensen’s passenger, Justin Alexander Conlin, 25, of Hawley was airlifted to Scranton’s Community Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Shortly after 8:30 p.m., on Dec. 4, William H. Motz, 43, of Lake Ariel was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate Highway 84 in Dingman Township. Police said Motz lost control of his eastbound pickup, struck the berm, rolled and flipped over several times before coming to rest on its roof. Motz was pronounced dead at the scene. Sudden weather condition changes played a role in the accident, police said.
