DINGMAN — The Dingman Supervisors Tuesday approved the township’s voluntary participation in the 2010 LUCA program, Local Updates of Census Addresses. The program allows the Census to get local help in preparing addresses for the 2010 Census. The supervisors decided to do the program’s “Full Address List Review,” which will require the township to sign a confidentiality agreement. A program liaison, designated by the township, will review the addresses the Census Bureau has now, add missing addresses and provide any additional information the Census Bureau requires. Supervisors Chair Tom Mincer said, “This census will see big changes for Pike County and due to the increase in population will require a redistricting of both Federal and State jurisdictions.” He went on to say, “Siptroth, Pfiefer, and Baker will most likely have too many people in their districts and changes will be necessary.”
