Two Port men arrested in drug raid

    MILFORD - Pike County District Attorney Douglas J. Jacobs reports that two Port Jervis, NY men were arrested on Nov. 11 after a raid of their hotel room in Milford. The Pike County Drug Task Force served a search warrant on a hotel room at the Milford Motel on Route 6 and 209 early this morning. The Task Force had obtained a search warrant to search the motel room for drugs and money from Magisterial District Judge Alan B. Cooper. Inside the hotel room, Members of the Task Force found two men, Jose Marrero, age 30, and Chris Greening, age 22, both of Port Jervis. During a search of the room, the task force found 121 bags of heroin, a large amount of crack cocaine and over $ 800.00 in cash. Police also discovered that Greening was a fugitive from justice in Orange County NY for a probation violation. First Assistant District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin, the Drug Task Force coordinator for the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, said that a two month investigation lead up to the raid. Tonkin went on to say: ‘The Seizure of a 121 bags of heroin is a significant seizure of the drug for this area.” Tonkin thanked the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pike County Sheriffs Office K-9 Unit for their assistance in the investigation Jose Marrero was charged with Criminal Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin and Cocaine, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was placed in the Pike County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 bail. Chris Greening was charged with Criminal Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was placed in the Pike County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail. He will also be held pending extradition to Orange County. Both men will face a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Charles F. Lieberman at a later date.
