MILFORD - Thanks to the generosity of Pike’s citizens, United Way of Pike County is once again preparing to allocate funds to human service agencies in Pike County. Allocation Committee Chair, Christine Obser commented, “The Allocations Committee members represent a cross-section of Pike County communities and interests. These volunteers evaluate the applications for funding human services agencies and programs. This ensures an impartial and independent allocation funding process. “The United Way is still in the process of campaigning and we look welcome any additional funding. Last year, we allocated $90,000 to twenty three agencies that provide services to residents with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, battered and abused women, as well as the elderly just to name a few.” The application process is open and all 501C3 organizations are welcome to apply. All applications must be received in the United Way office by March 30, 2007.” For more information, call the Pike United Way office at 570-296-9980 or e-mail uwpc@ptd.net.
