United Way moving into the borough

Milford — With a fresh coat of paint on the walls, the new location of the United Way of Pike County’s office is one step closer to being completed. This is thanks to Mike Donlon and his Habitat for Humanity crew who volunteered their time to paint the building. “We are excited for the United Way and are glad to help the process move along!” said Donlon. The United Way of Pike County’s office has been located in the Sunshine Station for the past three years thanks to the donation of owners Dick and Pam Lutfy. Earlier, it was located in the Tom Quick Inn, from mid-1999. “We have been so thankful for the space we’ve had at the Sunshine Station. The time we had there was great and we thank them. This move will be good for the United Way in the sense that we will be more accessible to the public. The office is coming along wonderfully! Our target date to be officially moved in is Oct. 1, and things are going to plan,” said Peter Ioppolo, president of the United Way of Pike County. “The next step of this process will be getting carpet installed throughout the office. Once that is in place, then we can move the furniture in. Then the office will be up and running!” he added. Make sure to look for the new office at 508 West George Street in Milford. What was the old Miller Oil building is now the new United Way of Pike County. After Oct. 1, feel free to stop by.
