MILFORD — Susan Schor was named Thursday to fill a vacancy on the Delaware Valley Board of Education. Acting on petition request based on the school board’s failure to fill the vacancy within the 30-day window prescibed by state law, Judge Gregory Chelak transmitted his one-paragraph decision shortly before noon. Schor finished sixth in 2007 race for five board seats, falling 157 votes short. In Wednesday testimony before Chelak at the petition hearing, Schor described herself as a frequent volunteer in school with “a passion for the Delaware Valley School District." A professional Realtor, she said she has been seeing a lot of people losing their homes and is sensitive to the issue of taxes in difficult times. Schor was expected to take her seat at the Oct. 23 board meeting, at 7 p.m. at the Shohola Elementary School.
