Update on missing anglers
BUSHKILL The National Park Service reported Tuesday that the search for Timothy Panella, 57, and Richard Skoland, 62 had resumed Tuesday morning. The two men have been missing since their boat capsized on the Delaware River, in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, on Thursday, April 3. A third man, Ronald Priest, 58, made it to land and reported the mishap. The National Park Service and New Jersey State Police Marine Service Unit are continuing to search a 24-mile stretch of the river corridor, including islands and the New Jersey and Pennsylvania shorelines. Tuesday’s search effort involved nine people and the use of four boats. Improved weather and river conditions were expected to aid the searchers. The National Park Service is assessing conditions for indicators that favor dive operations. If the weather permits, the New Jersey State Police Aviation Bureau was to conduct another search by helicopter later Tuesday.
