Update/Correction: Library review is not postponed

Milford — Despite reports to the contrary in various media, no decision has been made to postpone the Milford Borough Architectural Review Board decision on the Pike County Public Library’s plans for a new central library. Borough President Matt Osterberg said that while the library board has sought a postponement, no decision on that request can made until the review board again gathers to vote in a formal meeting. The board meets next at 7 p.m. on Dec. 22. Since the historic district ordinance provides for automatic approval of an application upon the board’s failure to make a decision within 30 days, any postponement must be formally agreed upon by both the applicant and the board. A brief announcement appearing in the Dec. 19 edition was based on incorrect information provided in a Dec. 17 press release from the library.
