DINGMANS FERRY — Car wrecked? No problem for 21st Century Restorations & Sales, Inc. An honest restoration and auto collision repair shop right here in Pike County; that’s absolutely right. Honesty, safety, and quality are the most important words for this state-of the art restoration and auto body/collision repair shop on Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry. Kathleen Henderson, president of 21st Century Restoration and her husband, John Henderson, co-owner and treasurer of the company probably know everything you ever wanted to know about cars, but were afraid to ask. For them, cars are a passion. John started restoring cars at the age of 14 and is still fascinated by Model A -Fords. Kathleen grew up near Gasoline Alley, in Patterson, N.J. and as a teenager had the opportunity to get to see where famous race car drivers such as Ted Horn and Pappy Hough did their maintenance in the little garages set up all along Gasoline Alley. 21st Century Restorations & Sales has been here since 1982 and its success is based on its great word-of-mouth reputation. Today the facility occupies more than 3,500 square feet of building space with secure outdoor storage. Kathleen and John are currently expanding their business by 50 percent. Kathleen and John Henderson are part of the community and like to give back to it. They support our local Fire and Ambulance Corps, as well as the Delaware Township Football League and Little League. John is on the Delaware Township Planning Commission and hopes to retain the clean atmosphere of this rural community. They have 11 in staff. Manager Kevin Olver runs the shop so well that most customers think he is actually the owner. Kevin and their five full-time craftsmen are all ASE certified (Automotive Service Excellence). ASE is a testing and accreditation organization and the Henderson’s entire shop is ASE certified. Their staff is not only very helpful and friendly, but they have to undergo rigorous training. Each technician has to pass the SP2 course on safety and pollution prevention as well as ASE certification. The shop is also rigorous in its compliance with DEP and OSHA requirements and its estimator is licensed by the State of Pennsylvania. In addition to offering all auto body, collision, welding, and air conditioning services, the crème de la crème of the shop is its restoration service. It does two types of restoration: drivers, and total restoration. The drivers type makes the car look original and drive safely, but the details (such as the original horn, for example) may not be accurate; but a “total” includes every historic detail on the car. This type of job could run into tens of thousands of dollars and take several years. Whether it is a total restoration or a cracked door, 21st Century will work with excellence and loving care. 21st Century Restoration & Sales, Inc. 1756 state Route 739, Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328 Phone: 570-828-2100 Fax: 570-828-2944 www.pikeautobody.com
