Wilklow appointed cancer society secretary

Milford - Lynn Wilklow, a realtor working on her Associate Brokers license and training to become a sales manager at Wilkins & Associates Real Estate Inc., was recently named secretary of the board of directors of the Pike Unit of the American Cancer Society. She will assume the presidency in two years. Board president Anita Kretchik said, “Lynn has only been on the board a year yet demonstrated her willingness to help wherever needed.” Wilklow asked the president to give her some work to do, “So I did,” Kretchik declared. After two years of understudying with Kretchik, Wilklow will be trained and ready to become president. “I believe that the services of the American Cancer Society are so important in the area,” noted Wilklow, who works at Wilkins’ Dingmans Ferry office. Like most everyone, she was personally touched by cancer and knows how much it means to people to have these services and support they can count on for themselves and their families. The Pike office of the ACS at 110 West Hartford Street in Milford is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings. The local chapter helps pay for prescriptions for cancer patients who can’t afford them, offers a cancer support group and sponsors Reach to Recovery, linking breast cancer survivors with those newly diagnosed. Camp Can Do at Mt. Greatna is for kids in treatment or remission and their siblings. For information on the American Cancer Society, call 800-ACS-2345 or contact them online at www.cancer.org.
