Wine sommelier and expert Larry Tripaldi is pictured on April 11, conversing with Barbara and Richard Smyth regarding wine selections at the Gold Key Lake wine pairing event. There were 26 Gold Key residents invited to an evening of wine tasting and wine education. Tripaldi provided eight selections of wine, a total of 48 bottles, from as far away as Germany, Argentina, Italy and of course California. The wines were paired with a sampling of calamari, veal piccata, meatballs, pizza, chicken and veal marsala. Tripaldi gave a brief educational talk describing the wines and the grapes they were made from before each of the eight wines were served along with the eight dishes prepared by the Gold Key restaurant. Tripaldi also brought desert wines which consisted of orange and black Muscat, paired with macerated strawberries over pound cake and Belgium chocolates teamed with Stilton cheese.
