Women and Their Woods: On the Path of Least Resistance'
HAWLEY The Delaware Highlands Conservancy and the Federal Forest Service at Grey Towers presents an ongoing series of workshops specially tailored for women forest landowners offered from March through October. The first workshop, On the Path of Least Resistance, will take place on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the PPL Environmental Learning Center in Hawley. What are your individual goals for your woodlands property? What are the best ways forward toward refining those goals and employing them successfully in sustaining healthy and productive forestlands? Join other women forest landowners for a dynamic workshop focused on designing and fulfilling individual objectives for your forestlands. Presenter Nancy Baker, President of the Bradford-Sullivan Forest Landowners Association, will lead a discussion based on the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources PA Forest Stewardship Management Goals worksheet, a questionnaire designed to assist forest landowners in developing objectives for successful stewardship of their forestlands. Co-presenter, Stephen Jaquith, Consulting Forester of Lycoming County will address creation and implementation of varieties of trails on private forestlands and how landowners can best maintain these trails for their use and enjoyment. The program is free and open to the general public, but prior registration is required. Future workshop dates are May 3, Aug. 1, and Oct. 4. Please watch for future announcements.
