Yoga Day celebrated for Safe Haven

Milford Lightseeds Yoga located on Broad Street in Milford hosted a ”Yoga Day USA” Open House in an effort to educate the community on the health and wellness benefits of yoga. The two-day event raised $180 in donations, all of which were donated to Safe Haven of Pike County. Safe Haven, a non-profit agency, is the only agency in Pike County which provides direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. For more information about Safe Haven of Pike County, check out its Web site at www.safehavenofpikecounty.org. Those interested in sponsoring a fundraising event for Safe Haven should contact Sheila Korick-Houston at 570-296-2827. Safe Haven offered thanks to Annie Palmer and Lightseeds Yoga for their ongoing support in promoting peace in Pike County. Palmer has also announced that Tai Chi classes will now be offered at the studio. “Our students asked if I could find an instructor and I was fortunate to locate Joseph Petrosi of Hudson Valley Tai Chi Center. We are excited about bringing this opportunity to Milford.” Tai Chi has been proven to reduce stress, help in self-healing and improve overall well being. Come learn the ancient Chinese ways to help yourself. Lightseeds is located at 310 Broad street upstairs from Wells Ferry Emporium. Classes are scheduled to start Feb. 21.
