Change your ways
To the editor: The primary elections are now over. To those of you who took time out of your hectic schedules to vote - thank you! It’s an honor to live in this country and have that choice. I often wonder why more people don’t get out and vote. Now that the people have made their decisions I had to take this opportunity to write down my thoughts regarding campaigning and how we live our lives today. What exactly goes through ones mind when they decide to run for a public position? Is tearing down your opponent the only way to get your views across to the people? What happen to honesty and integrity? What happen to just sharing your views and letting the public decide? Why does it have to get ugly? Why do we throw our morals and values out the window just to win? I look at how people live their lives and I wonder what is the message we are sending to future generations? Doesn’t matter how you play the game as long as you win? Tear the other guy down so you look better? You don’t have to get out and vote, someone else will do it? Wake-Up People! This is our world. We have a choice, we have a voice - USE IT! Don’t wait for the next guy to pick up the pieces and clean up the mess. Get involved. Stop waiting for your neighbor to do what you can do yourself. Get involved. Don’t think it’s someone else’s responsibility, it’s yours too. Get involved. And, most important of all be honest. Let future generations know that honestly and integrity is not a thing of the past n it’s the here and now. Teach by example. Get involved! DeAnna Margiore Milford
