Helpers down on the farm
The Sept. 20 Pike County United Way Day of Caring has always been an outstanding example of the giving, “pitch-in” spirit of the people of Pike county. Our organization, Country Ark Farm, was again blessed this year to have the services of 36 volunteers who helped us spruce up and winterize the Farm. We are so appreciative to the United Way for providing this day of service and especially to the 36 volunteers who rolled up their shirt sleeves and dug in to help the Farm accomplish some much-needed projects that our small, unpaid staff just hasn’t had the time to accomplish. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the volunteers for their hard work and fruitful efforts! Country Ark Farm is a non-profit foundation located just outside of Milford, which provides animal, recreational and art therapy experiences for mentally, emotionally and physically challenged children and adults in the tri-state region. The foundation is housed on a lively 26 acre farm that is home to a menagerie of well-socialized animals. We’re so profoundly appreciative for the annual support provided by the Pike County United Way and for the incredibly valuable volunteer services provided by the dedicated volunteers on the annual Day of Caring.
