Despite the fact that I am a registered Democrat, I will be voting for Theo Balu

    To the Editor:

As an Eastern-European émigré, I came to America to escape the corruption of Socialism. I never expected to find it so deeply embedded in Pike County.

My Understanding is, Dennis Brink has engaged in a conflict of interest for over 40 years by winning contracts no doubt awarded internally by virtue of his role as Supervisor. When confronted by this accusation some time ago, he closed his company and is now winning those contracts for a new employer, continuing to benefit from his role. The public should demand an investigation, because How else does one contractor so consistently win nearly every job for four decades?

Now, when there’s finally a viable choice running in opposition, Dennis flips his party allegiance as a lifetime Republican and is running on the Democrat ticket. To my way of thinking, there is no other reason to do so if there wasn’t a personal benefit, which raises a very good question about his integrity and ethics. It also brings shade on the Democrat party that welcomes a known turncoat into our midst. Despite the fact that I am a registered Democrat, I will be voting for Theo Balu. I encourage you to do so as well. It’s time for an honest change.
