Editor’s note on political letters

We welcome letters to the editor about the Nov. 4 election.

Letters are accepted from all except the candidates, who will be invited to submit candidate statements instead.

We do have a long-standing policy regarding letters about candidates in the last week before the election. Then we will print only letters that support candidates, not criticize them. The reason is fairness. A candidate who is criticized that week would not have an opportunity to respond before the election.
