Thank you for supporting race/walk

To the Editor:
On behalf of the Grey Towers Heritage Association, I would like to thank all those who participated, supported and/or volunteered for our third annual 8K Race/Walk. Proceeds from the race will go to restoring Gifford’s iconic canoe and re-establishing Cornelia’s wildflower meadow. One supporter donated money to remember a friend’s elderly mother who had recently passed away. She commented: “When her daughter travels to Grey Towers, she will celebrate her mother’s life in wildflowers.”

Girls on the Run, a Delaware Valley Middle School runner’s group, cheered on participants with daffodils and homemade signs. “Their energy and enthusiasm was electric,” said Nancy Shanley, Course Coordinator.

The following businesses sponsored the race: Access Physical Therapy and Wellness, Advanced Chiropractic, Davis R. Chant Realtors, Jeff’s Greenhouses, Kittatinny Canoes, Milford Auto Body, Milford Diner, Milford Tobacco, Scottish Inn Motel, and Waterwheel Café.

Friends of Forestry supporters included: Action Bikes and Outdoors, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Peggy Emanuel, Century 21/Geba Realty, Jennifer Cipriano, Friends of the Delaware Water Gap, Girls on the Run (DVMS), Susan Hines, Home Depot, Irene’s Tailoring, Dawn McIntyre, Jen Murphy Fitness, Milford Farms, Susan Hines, Milford Fire Department, Olympia Sports, Price Chopper, Prime Time Meats, Stella Provenzano (artist for starting line), Eileen Rachelson, Shoprite, William Voelkel, Walmart, Weis Markets and Whilborg’s Deli.

Thanks to all who made this such a successful community event.
