We need to broaden seniors' college searches

To the Editor:
Your article entitled "Guidelines for Students Applying to College" makes a very interesting recommendation — do a broad search for colleges — not just the same old same old. To that end, Delaware Valley High School should publish a list of the specific schools that graduating seniors, in the last three years, have attended and the number of seniors who have attended each school. The current practice of simply reporting on the number of seniors who went to two-year or four-year colleges, without identifying specific schools, may obscure the very, very small number of schools selected by our graduating seniors. We need to broaden seniors' college searches. And we need to do it now.
