Whether we are Muslim or not, we should be concerned

To the Editor:
Donald Trump recently stated that he wants to make America great again. Again? When did America stop being great?

Trump would like to ban all Muslims from coming to America. Whether we are Muslim or not, we should be concerned. If we follow his reasoning and logic, we might ban all Germans for their possible ties to Nazis. Maybe all Mexicans and Columbians would be banned because of the drugs that some bring in. Even within our country, Southerners might be banned because some belong to KKK. The list of examples can fill this page. We cannot label an entire group because of the actions of some of its members.

Trump's reasoning is distorted and extreme. His proposals are frightening. He seems to forget that America is a diverse nation and has always valued and fought for the human right to freedom of religion. Various and numerous immigrants have contributed to the success and beauty of America. I wonder what Trump will propose next. What will he do about the many Muslims that are here already? I can only imagine.

It is scary that Trump might win the presidency. I worry about what will become of America and its future. In 2016, please vote if you are able to and consider what other plans Trump may have in mind. It could affect you, your family, neighbors and friends. Please vote responsibly. Thank you.
