Workman's Compensation is rigged to benefit the employer

To the Editor:
This is being written for those employees who have had the misfortune to have an accident on the job. If you have had an accident, you become the enemy and endure a bad attitude, making you feel less then what you are. The people ruling such matters are Big Business, which is the insurance companies. All of their rulings are one-sided for their betterment and the owner of the company or corporation.
Why, when they issue a pay check, do they refer to a chart to bring the monies down to a lowly amount? The employee should be receiving their net earned income. This is done because at the time of settlement it is based on the pay they receive from the insurance company. Direct deposit is not recognized. Everything goes through the mails and is always late.
Why, when it is close to 90 days after the accident, is the employee sent to one of their doctors, when they assign a medical case worker to the case. That person goes to all doctors appointments, being present in the examining room, seeing and hearing everything that transpires, and then follows through with a report to the insurance company. Why are the employees' doctors not recognized and do not exist? This is because their doctor is paid to send in a report which reads "Go Back To Work," even though the employee can hardly move. They then follow through with a job offer, and even though the employee's doctors say it is not time they insist you return to work. If you do not show up you are hauled into court like a common criminal. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath the doctors take? All of these doings to go back to work is so they can fire you, and it will solve the problem of paying the employee any more medical monies or their pay.
Something has to be done about this terrible situation. Workman’s Compensation should become an unbiased agency that would monitor and oversee all accidents, making sure the employee receives all their benefits. They should be able to direct the insurance companies and not the other way around.
If anyone would like to share their story please send it to SWM, 700 Route 6 #115, Shohola, PA 18458. We all have to unite and not be pushed around anymore. We do live in a democracy.
