Remember the music
To the editor: Walking back from class in the snow here in Syracuse reminds me it’s the time of year for the winter concerts at Delaware Valley. The DV High School band performs this Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. in the DVHS auditorium. The chorus and orchestra perform together on both Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. in the DVHS auditorium. I hope everyone in the community takes advantage of this opportunity to witness the incredible music programs the Delaware Valley schools have to offer. The chorus and orchestra will be a highlight of my winter break. Among a variety of classical and contemporary music for the holidays, the two groups are presenting a joint performance of Carmina Burana, a professional-level piece whose opening movement everyone can recognize. Music was one of the most significant parts of my education at Delaware Valley, and it is now one of my most-missed parts. I will be thrilled to be a part of the audience. Please join these talented students for performances that portray the essence of our community and school. Ryan Balton Syracuse, N.Y.
