Responsible Residents on the election

The residents of Sunrise Lake have been thrust into a situation that most residents did not want. They are being forced into a situation where the manager/owners of the community, after spending the last few years, answering nuisance legal challenges by a few residences, have decided to deed over all the communal properties to a Community Board, which is to be elected shortly. It is imperative that the residence look into the agenda of those who claim to be Concerned Citizens and read between the lines as to their plans for changes to the community we all chose to live in. Most of us moved into Sunrise because it did not have a community board driven by small town politics and high dues. We did not want someone telling us what tree to cut or how high the grass should be. Most of all we did not want the high dues to support the interests of a few. The first job of the board will be to set up bylaws which will govern everything that pertains to the development. The group, of which I am a member, Responsible Residents, wants all bylaws to be approved by a majority vote of all residents. We want to ensure that all expenditures for so called “property improvements” go to the residence for a vote. Our main concern is to immediately secure workers for snow removal and sanding for the upcoming winter. As of now, because of these frivolous law suits, there is no one on staff to clear the roads. The school bus, fire department, ambulances and, yes, you, if you need to go to work, doctor or for food, need to be concerned that we are without the bare necessity of road maintenance. How could this have happened? Most of us believed that when nothing improper could be found, this small group would go away; at least that is what we hoped. Unfortunately, while the rest of us were busy working and getting on with our lives, they did not go away and now we are all stuck with the results. Let’s make the best of it by insuring that the people we vote on to the board have the best interests of all the residents of Sunrise, not just the elite few. Listed below are the names of Sunrise residents that are current in their dues, have always given their share so that the community would not suffer and are running for the community board: Barbara Borriello, Donald Post, Heather Koferl, Robert Mendoza, Barbara Chapman, Richard Babcock, Janice Schneck.
