Seems like sour grapes
To the editor: In reference to Mr. Foley’s letter to the editor, (Courier, Aug. 3), does he believe he is more able than the law enforcement community to judge this action. Mr. Carella never implied that money was the reason he helped to apprehend this criminal. His reasons included the fact that the criminal could have jeopardized the safety of the students at the school. And who is Mr. Foley to assume that the vehicle the criminal was driving was his own. If he was willing to steal money from a bank, could he not have stolen the vehicle he used to do it? No one was harmed during this incident, unless you include the criminal. It seems like sour grapes to disparage someone who has already done a vital service for our community not only by helping to apprehend a criminal, but also by discouraging others from doing so in the future.
