To the editor: The Pike County Humane Society would like to thank Milford Chrysler / Suzuki and The Rosado Group for being our biggest supporter this quarter with the invention of their own Pike County Humane Society adoption day. The first event was held on Dec. 9. Representatives from The Rosado Group organized the event, supplied the location, garnered support from other local businesses. CRC provided the tents and the heaters for the dogs to be showcased outside while the cats had their own space in the showroom. Milford Chrysler also provided a viewing room for potential cat adopters to take the cats out of their carriers and had time to interact. We also need to acknowledge and thank Hills Precision Auto of Branchville who provided several helpful donations and the employees of Wal-Mart collected monies used for animal crates, cat litter and other needed supplies that helped the day go more smoothly. The Rosado Group also provided the advertisement and were almost solely responsible for the one day record breaking adoption of 11 dogs and 8 cats. The response was so great and the event was so successful, that they have agreed to have our pets there the first Saturday of every month. The January 6 adoption day was a balmy and beautiful day to be outside and brought us the adoption of five cats, seven dogs and a ferret. We cannot wait for the next adoption day being held on Saturday Feb. 3 to get even more deserving animals into their new forever homes. Thank you again, Pike County Humane Society Milford
