I must start out by thanking the more than two hundred and fifty volunteers that helped the Chris Carney campaign in Pike County. Your effort on Election Day was nothing short of inspiring! We could not have produced such an impressive victory for Congressman Carney without the help of all our volunteers including the large support we received from Independents and Republicans as well as Democrats. Congressman Carney won 13 of the 14 counties in the 10th Congressional District by a difference of 36,000 votes (159,000 to 123,000). This election was evidence of the way Congressman Carney served the people of the 10th Congressional District the past two years. The election is over. It’s time to move forward and start finding solutions to the issues that defined this election. Issues like improving our economy, returning our troops from Iraq, making a college education more affordable, reducing health care costs and minimizing our energy costs.
