Volunteer at the polls

To the editor, Exit polling will take place in Pike County for the Democratic race. With such a hotly contested race we felt it necessary that voters for the two main candidates have confidence in their election system. The Diebold TSX system that our county has chosen to use is one of the most unsecured voting systems in use in this country. This system has been known to be unreliable and has been proven to have issued inaccurate results in previous elections. Our exit poll will be for the Democratic primary only since the candidate for the Republican Party is presumed to be chosen already. If any Ron Paul supporters wish to exit poll I can give them the information they need to do so. Upon exiting the polling place, registered Democratic voters will be asked to participate. If they choose to do so they will be handed a ballot with the two main candidate’s names and a choice for “other” on it. The voter simply has to mark their choice and drop the ballot in the box. In the past we have gotten 49% of voters to participate. We hope to do better this year. If you would like to volunteer, or would like more information, you may call me at 570-686-3552.
