Why are schools only held responsible?
In response to the article, “Youth council surveys sexual activity and histories” I would like to know at what point the parents of these students will be held responsible for their sexual activity. Schools do share a part in the sexual/health education of students, but if these responsibilities are not shared in the home there is no hope for our kids to be educated. Sex education needs to start at home and be followed through in the classroom. Sexual exposure in our culture is not hard to come by. Children see it everywhere. If parents are not screening and limiting the exposure of what they see it cannot be solely the fault of our schools. And while Delaware Valley has been the leading name of high percentages we have to realize that this is a growing problem nationwide. Instead of playing the blame game we need to come together as a community to save our kids from making these mistakes. N. Wagner Milford
