Working to help out

| 29 Sep 2011 | 01:31

Recently, friends and neighbors from Pike and Wayne County got together to plan a new kind of community-based initiative designed to help feed hungry people while building solidarity among residents from diverse backgrounds. The group has planned a Pike/Wayne Community Potluck for Friday, Sept. 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Lords Valley. St. John Neumann Church on state Route 739 has agreed to let us use their hall for the evening. Call 570-947-5386 for more information. This group is not a charity, not a nonprofit - it’s just people who believe that when times get tough, as they are now, we all benefit from pulling together. Lenore Rogan Hemlock Farms
