The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) announces “Inspired by Song,” the second collaboration between the Yarnslingers and WCAA member artists. Participating artists created an original artwork inspired by memoirs that were inspired by songs.

“Inspired by Song” runs May 8 through June 14, 2025. There will be a reading on May 18 at 2 p.m. at the Bodhi Tree Art Studio (214 6th St., Honesdale, Pa.), followed by an artists’ reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the WCAA Gallery (959 Main St., Honesdale, Pa.).

The Yarnslingers, a writer’s group based in the Upper Delaware River Valley and founded by writer and musician Ramona Jan, is dedicated “to the art andcraft of storytelling,” with the belief that “everyone has a story worth telling and hearing.”

The exhibition highlights the work of nine Yarnslingers: Bizzy Coy, Ramona Jan, Kazzrie Jaxen, John Erik Karkula, Janice Meyerson, Kiki Reginato, John Roynon, Greg Triggs, and Teresa Tulipano.

The exhibit also features twenty-nine WCAA artists: David Anderson, Norma Bernstock, Jane Biron, Violet Brand, Colleen Campbell, Phyllis Chekenian, Susan Cottle, Maura Doern Danko, Dale Emmart, James Frost, Sonya Gregory, Erica Hart, Keith Helwig, Heather Hogan-Spencer, Jay Hostetler, Michelle Kawka, Rich Klein, Sherry Laird, Carol Ann Lyons, Monique Milleson, Robyn Oakes, Mimi OBrien, Nancy Palubniak, Joan Polishook, Debby Pollak, Diane Stout, Laurie Tintle, Laura Tuokkola, and Bill Westmoreland.

The WCAA gallery, beginning its third full exhibition season at 959 Main St., provides an exhibition space for artists to curate and exhibit their work, share ideas through workshops and artist talks, and be a hub for a growing art community.
