Narcan giveaway and overdose awareness event coming to Milford church

Milford. Pike County Drug and Alcohol Commission will collaborate with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Milford to hold an event where information about the ongoing drug overdose problem will be presented and Narcan, an overdose antidote, will be given away with instruction for using it.

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Milford (EPC) is partnering with the Pike County Drug and Alcohol Commission to hold an Overdose Awareness and free Narcan Giveaway on Saturday, August 6, from 11 AM - 4 PM. The event, which will be held on the front lawn of the church, is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

Many people know of someone, including friends or family, that may be or has been affected by opioid addiction. Opioid addiction is a worldwide problem, including here in the tri-state area.

Narcan is a life-saving non-addictive drug that reverses the effect of opioids such as heroin and fentanyl and is administered as a nasal spray, saving lives when properly administered in time.

In addition to the free Narcan giveaway, other resources and information will be available.
