Lacawac Sanctuary Foundation has been awarded a $2,500 grant from The Scranton Area Foundation (SAF) as part of the Tomorrow’s Leaders Today 2024–2025 Grant Cycle.
The funding will support Lacawac’s environmental education initiatives, helping to expand hands-on learning opportunities that inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, scientists, and community leaders. Through immersive outdoor experiences, STEM-based programming, and leadership development activities, Lacawac engages students in meaningful exploration of the natural world while building critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
“We are incredibly grateful to The Scranton Area Foundation and the Tomorrow’s Leaders Today program for their support,” said Craig Lukatch, President of Lacawac Sanctuary. “This investment in our work strengthens our ability to provide high-quality environmental education experiences that empower young people to become informed leaders and advocates for our natural resources.”
The Tomorrow’s Leaders Today grant cycle focuses on supporting initiatives that positively impact youth and strengthen the future of the region. SAF’s contribution will directly enhance programming that fosters leadership development and environmental responsibility among area students.
